I have memorized some dictionary entries because the verbiage serves as ready-made definitions to things, especially things that cannot be explained by pictures or sounds like concepts, feelings, sensations etc. For similar reasons, I used to memorized class descriptions of classes that I haven taken. It’s a short handed way to explain to people what I have learned.
